I had bought this shelf when I purchased my Timberline grill and other accessories. The right bracket on which the shelf hangs was missing two screws making it impossible to mount the shelf. I called Traeger to explain my problem and they even turned my phone into a camera so they could see the issue. They understood and informed me they would send me a new shelf. That seemed extreme for just two missing screws but okay as that would solve my problem. What they ended up sending me was the hardware for the Timberline grill assemble in which none of that hardware matched what I needed. I then sent them an email with pictures of the problem two weeks ago and to date Traeger has not responded. The grill itself and accessories all seem well built but its Traeger's lack of quality control when packaging there product and getting someone to help with rectifying the problem. The reason I did not return the shelf to where I bought it and the grill was because it is 3.5 hours drive from where I live. I would recommend opening all boxes at the store to insure all parts are there. I was wanting this grill for some time and was very excited about getting it but am beginning to regret my purchase.

Bought this shelf when purchasing a Gen 2 Ironwood, the build quality is fine and it attaches well to the Pop and Lock system. Dropping and raising the shelf is a doddle and it accommodates the Traeger cover perfectly. So far so good! The problem arises with the width of the thing, the available space when the grill hood is down is simply too narrow to be particularly useful because of the way the hood handle impinges on the shelf. The larger version shelf is longer but has the same width, this issue is something that is commented on in various Traeger forums with people trying to develop a workaround or even make their own shelf. Given the weight of a Traeger I cant imaging a wider shelf (maybe 3-4 inches) would affect stability and given it is a drop down shelf it shouldn't impact on the use of a cover? I have quite a few Traeger accessories which in the main are excellent but I believe they have dropped the ball on this one.

Shelf not up to Traeger standards. I ordered this for my Silverstone XL. I would have liked it longer, but you cannot have everything. But what really frosted me is when I went out this morning to put the cover on. It was a nice sunny morning and realized the PAINT does NOT match.

The shelf is a great addition to the Ironwood, but is too narrow (depth) for full functionality. When the lid is closed the handle takes up a large portion of the shelf, making it's use limited. The shelf on my Ironwood 650 extends about 3" further from the handle which made it much more useful when cooking. Also making it as wide as the grill would be nice. Marginal value for the price.

You over charged a premium price for a shelf that is too small. There is hardly any room to set anything on it when the lid is closed because the lid handle sticks out so far and covers about a good 6 inches of the shelf. Additionally, the shelf is a good 8 inches short of reaching the full length that it should reach. And you charged a premium price for this?? Charged almost double what you charge for the shelves on other Traeger grills. Terrible business. The design team should be ashamed of designing and selling this shelf for the Silverton XL. Management should be ashamed for approving the design and marketing it.
